Located just 6 kilometres from the French border and the Pyrenean "Portalet" pass, Formigal firmly established itself for the winter 2007-8 as Spain's largest ski domain (a title previously held by Baqueira Beret followed by Sierra Nevada).

It's 137 kms of piste span 2300 hectares & 4 valleys of spectacular terrain from the resort village up to the French border.

Over 100 million euros have been recently invested and brought the resort thus far with modern installations, quality accommodation, attentative customer care and a full range of facilities to cater for both the skier and non-skier.

Formigal offers a full range of wide, well groomed pistes to suit all standard of skier and snowboarder. It's development has created an effective system for spreading the load of skiers especially during busy periods with three initiation bases each with their own beginner slopes, children crèche/snow garden facility and restaurants.

The non stop shuttle bus service takes visitors free from the centre of Formigal to three principal ski bases.

Heavy focus is aimed toward the English speaking clientel here with English speaking staff being a pre-requisite in most job descriptions. The resort organiser's have even implented a programme for bringing in native English staff in all areas in attempts to serve all requirements in a professional and easy manner.

Formigal is also a year-round destination with a range of summer activities available when the snow disappears.
